i was ill last night. that wasn't very fun. and it was a bit scary for a while, because i didn't know what was going on and if it was just my body that was sick or if guido was having problems coz there was a lot of painful cramping.
so today i'm feeling quite weak and tired. didn't get much sleep.
but that is not the point of my post.
i have a poll i want to conduct. the question?
have you seen the movie 'cars'?
we are finally all moved out from judson. today was a long day of moving the buddies, final clean up and so on. hoorah for dad and mumma helping out, and for the borrowing of tom's van.
here we are in our empty living room
and lying where our bed was
tonight we went shopping and bought the johnsons a bunch of stuff that will hopefully be helpful as they move back in
i am so ready for bed time. what an old lady on a saturday night. but i don't care. sleeping is the coolest.
my sister is getting married on january 3rd - which isn't really that far away at all! how exciting!
it's been a big few days. tomorrow is our last official day of moving - this time it's the boys turn. plus i get to vacuum the house and mop the floors. woooo!
as a reward for all our hard work, we went to the movies tonight. howie picked three he wanted to see, and then i picked one based on what time it was on. so we saw 'get smart'

we went in knowing not to think of it as being like the 'get smart' tv series. i'm not a huge steve carell fan so i wasn't expecting too much. so i guess that means i wasn't disappointed. it wasn't too bad, but nothing too good either.
i really liked the tv series.
sometimes i am very glad that my parents decided to live in holland for a year when we were little. actually, i don't think i've ever not been glad they did it. so that's good.
but my main reason for my gladness today is for dutch food that we brought home with us, in our hearts, not just our tummies. today's enjoyment was taai taai. mmmm... yum.
today was a big day.
a big thank you to tom, michael, my mum, my dad, and howie for all their hard work.
we hired a truck and moved all the furniture and a lot of other boxes of stuff. i can't believe we have so much stuff. and most of it we haven't bought, but have been given.
so here we are in our new place for our first night. we'll be spending a bit more time at judson moving other random stuff and cleaning. the boys will also be moved on friday or saturday - so we'll be visiting them in the meantime.
and we're learning how to use our new internet - virgin broadband dongle thingys. hopefully they are good value.
here's to a good night's sleep. we need it and deserve it me thinks.
tonight is the last night of us sleeping in this house. tomorrow is moving day. we have hired a truck to take most of our earthly possessions to our next port of call.
i am sad to leave this house. it's been an awesome first house for us. although we are kind of glad to be leaving it too because bits of it are starting to fall apart! but regardless, it's looked after us well.
so we're almost on to the next adventure, living with Barb. hopefully all goes well and we enjoy a change of scenery.
the plan is for another change, to some more permanent scenery, over the coming months. so we'll see what happens with that.
so let the packing continue!
congratulations you crazy cats!!
i'm getting me a brother-in-law. he better be a good one.
tomorrow is one of our work events which i've coordinated and howie will be mc-ing. these things are always a bit stressful. i think i'm feeling ok with it all. this week has been busy. as will be tonight and tomorrow.
the biggest stress has been waiting on people to confirm different details. some haven't responded to me at all, others i haven't heard from for a week. one is lovely and helpful. it's just so frustrating. sometimes i wish more people worked like i do. not that i'm perfect (at all!) but if people worked like me, then they'd do what i'd do, and make my life easier!
yep.
sunday will be wonderful. some sleeping and relaxing.
then reality will hit again as we have to keep packing and preparing for the big move on tuesday.
happy days.
my currents likes and dislikes

we went and did some shopping for work today, which required the use of my car, since i can't carry 20 6-packs of poppas. as i drove back towards work i noticed a parking inspector parked near our driveway. no worries since i wasn't parking in the street.
i then noticed he was standing in the driveway writing some notes or something, and he didn't see me. i was tempted to honk but didn't because my horn is freaking loud and i may have given him a heart attack. he moved, and i began to pull in. he stopped again. i stopped, and began to wind down my window. eventually he continued on.
and that's when i realised most of the back of his car was blocking part of our driveway. i could still get in - just. but i really wanted to write a note and put it on his windscreen. but i was a wuss bag and didn't.
i've been enjoying minestrone soup and bake at home rolls this weekend. a good soup weekend.
i feel like my blog is boring at the moment.
and this post won't break that mold.
packing is on it's way. it's kind of weird packing up the house, without the intention of unpacking it when we move. it's kind of relieving actually. because unpacking is probably more painful than packing in some ways.
obviously our clothes, some linen, DVDs, projector, bed, couch, toiletries etc will be needed, but not a lot of kitchen stuff or books, CDs, gadgets etc.
i am hopeful that in the next few months we will have success in finding a more permanent living arrangement. so that we can move, and unpack, and set up a house that we will be living in for many years. but of course, having somewhere in the interim is tops.
the next six months, and beyond, shall surely be an adventure!
i'm trying to get into the habit of sleeping on my left side, as normally i sleep on my back and apparently that's not good over the next few months.
but my head isn't used to it, and i lean on my jaw joint, with the rest of my jaw not held up. so i am waking up with a stiff, sore left jaw. and i don't know how to fix it!
that was such a good sleep. could have gone longer, but it was solid. and much needed.
i'm hanging onto BOM's forecast for today.
need more weekends or free evenings between now and moving so we can pack more. and packing tape.
nutrigrain is such an awesome cereal.
it's disappointing when you wake up from a dream that felt like reality to then realise it wasn't. even if it's about the most mundane things.
i need to do some gardening, mostly weeding, and my parents are coming over to help. i had this awesome dream about the front garden looking fabulous, all shiny and new, after all our hard work.
and then i woke up.
to realise that there's no way that it could end up looking like that (the end product was only loosely based on what's there), and that it's still raining, and BOM reckons it'll be raining for the rest of this week.
as wonderful and needed as rain is, i am still waiting to do more washing! dear oh dear. the trials of being a housewife.
the packing has begun. and we're finding a lot of stuff will go into boxes, and probably not come out for almost six months til we find somewhere more permanent to live. so that saves packing, unpacking, packing and unpacking again. hopefully.
and also, perhaps packing will inspire to throw a bunch of stuff out - whether through wisdom or laziness. either works for me.
howie and i, well mostly howie, came up with a nickname for our baby.
we didn't want to go the usual names - peanut, bubba, jelly bean, nipper - so we've been trying to be creative, but not too creative.
in the end we decided to name the baby, before it pops out, after this little guy

because he's cute, quiet, busy and we like him!
so guido it is!!
our buddy bowen cut his hair and i just found the video.
and what makes it more fun is little mikayla popping in and out of it - yay for fun buddies. yay bobo!
first up... we have somewhere to move to! yay! we will be moving in with a lady from our work who has a big house and is away a fair bit. so kind of like tenants/housekeepers in a way. still to work out the logistics of living together, but hopefully it will all work out. was the best option we had. then we'll see over the next few months where to as a long term option. rather than trying to find a long term solution in less than two weeks. but that means packing and moving can begin, and all that jazz.
secondly... we had our 12 week ultrasound today, which went well. everyone was happy with how things are looking. we got to see the baby moving around, quite a busy little thing actually, as well as things like arms, legs, hands, feet, heart etc.
here is the full length of the baby with what we assume is an arm and leg
and they do these freaky 3D pictures as well. we are having an alien
so there you go.

the weather forecast wasn't (and isn't) looking all that bright, so last night i did a wash of the essentials. fortunately essentials are often small things and you can wash a lot of them at once.
so now our lounge room feels like it's covered in clothes horses which are covered in clothes. with our one little heater chugging away at drying things. we wish him success.
i am happy for the upcoming long weekend. i am even more happy that we only have one scheduled event - a family lunch for debsy's birthday. it seems since we got home we haven't stopped. well that, or we've been too tired to feel like we were resting even if we were stopped.
i hope that the weather improves for the weekend - that i can do some gardening, and some washing - and we can get some packing done.
hopefully by friday we will know where we will be moving too. i think that will make it more real and then packing will become more of a need.
so we will see what happens.
