tonight the commy house came to us. initially it was ryan and jo over for dinner night. but it grew. there was chicken, tofu, salad and bread. there was the BBQ. there was 'who? what? where?'. there was tom, ryan, jo, mil and martin. it was good fun.
there is now ryan, tom and US marshals. this is not motivation to go to bed.
8 out of 8 for me this week. wahoo!

with thanks to the pies, power, eagles, lions, swans, dogs, roos and dockers.
we'll see how dreamteam goes though.
it had been a while since any kind of adventure - besides the whole 6000km of australia thing.
so yesterday, howie decided it was time for some chips by the water. and thanks to mr multi-park pass, we waived the $11 fee to enter bobbin head.
and we got some chips. howie with a hamburger, and me with a fish, and sat and looked at expensive boats
we also got some drinks. that traditional lime stuff sure is rich, but what did howie have
i'll just leave you to imagine his beverage of choice
and because i've never been to kalkari before (even though it's open EVERY day of the year EXCEPT christmas and when we tried to go last year with kostas and eleni), we went to kalkari. and saw kangaroos (or wallabies, whatever)
and a nice view of the bushland shire - including the now-famous-through-biggest-loser walkway
aren't we pretty
and continued along the kalkari walk. some spectacular views
but it was fun. good to get out and about.
and then the swans won last night at the SCG which was tops.
james and bec's mentionings of greece is making me think i'd like to be going back there. perhaps for a holiday rather than work though.
it's been over a year and a half now!
If someone posts something like this, generally it seems i have to have a go.

good to hear:
Australia have beaten South Africa by seven wickets in their World Cup semi-final in St Lucia.
Shaun Tait took 4-39, while Glenn McGrath continued his excellent run of form with 3-18.
one step away from adding another trophy to the cabinet.
we needed to buy some milk, bread and other bibs and bobs, so we toddled off to woolies.
because of ANZAC day, trading hours are 1pm-10pm. and because we're watching the AFL, we went for 1pm. and we got there as the doors were opening. there were probably about 60 people there, waiting for the doors to open. it was kinda weird. like when myer or DJs have their sales and you see it on TV. but it was woolies. and people just wanted to buy their groceries.
the bonus was will served us. we like will. even if he gets in trouble for being late to work.
we went and saw shooter today.

i liked it. although i had to cover my eyes for some of it. but i like those sort of movies. plus the conspiracy stuff. and i like mark wahlberg.
and what i liked most was walking to the cinema and seeing that Die Hard 4.0 had a poster up. and Oceans 13. i have anticipation for those two films.
westfield was first on todays to-do list. husband needed to be fitted for his suit for jesse and marie's wedding. i had to go the bank and pharmacy. and ended up buying a top for $5 - love hipster. i also bought us each a chai latte. howie only got one because as i went to order mine, i forgot to ask for skim. so that worked out well for him.
then lunch was pie in the sky. yummy vegetable pie! and it didn't even rain on us.
this afternoon i did some gardening. paspalum is a poo. but not as poo as other stupid weeds.
tonight the man they call b joined us for dinner. we had nibblies, coke/irn bru, spag bol and icecream - all very good ingredients for a good night in. we watched wave aid, chatted, played buzz (congratulations to b on a fine performance), and enjoyed being real people in the company of each other.
tomorrow is some more time off because of uluru - we're going to see a cheapo tuesday movie. and then go to work in the arvo.
you are now up to date on my past few hours and next few.
i thought to post some pics from our time away. obviously i can't post a lot of the coolest photos because young people are in them - damn young people. and damn image tricks for being very dodgy in resizing images!
one of the early dead bugs
this is my spoon, and our buddy pete
we painted this fun sign as part of the program. the little orange feet are care of my hands
our annual selfshot at uluru
a contemplative boy on the mala walk
having a drive
on the mutitjulu walk
a pretty rough part of the kings canyon walk (note the arrow)
howie and anthony on their camel ride
on lake hart
howie in some big glasses - all the rage
there are many many more cool photos. i like photos.
i don't think i'm man enough to do listerine every day. savacol after my wisdom teeth were removed was bad enough. my mouth almost fell out of my head just then.

it's strange how hard it can be to reintegrate back into life when you've been away from the 'normal' for a bit. and i think the trip we just took is a primary example. although, i guess it actually does make complete sense for young people to spin out a bit, or a lot, when they get home after such a mammoth experience. reality vs reality.
i find that missing out on world news is the biggest thing for me. to be out of the loop without my SMH diet.
we had maccas tonight to celebrate the end of our trip, after 13 days of healthy lunches and dinners. i was excited about my medium cheeseburger meal, until they gave me a coke instead of a diet coke.
but then it's good because we've started back where we left off... pressing play on discs 5 and 6 of season 3 of las vegas. oh yeah.
in the words of my father in law, "home again home again jiggity jig"
it's been a pretty big couple of weeks. not at all easy. but good. good kids. run well by my 'better half' and co. saw the sights again, and some new ones.
i had my first ever panic attack. oh the fun.
i am hopeful of waking up after 6am in the morning.
here we are at yulara once again.
eating dinner. well, i'm not yet. but hoorah for convenient vegetarianism.
bit hot our here in the day isn't it. surprising for the desert.
we bought a magnet today for the fridge. first one of the trip.
this time next week, we'll be home. that will be nice.
but regardless people are bonding, having fun and getting better at getting along.
so yay.
farewell.. maybe until back home (but i hope not!!)
off we go, me my third time, and howie his fifth. hope it's a good one.
we say goodbye to the boys for 13 days - bye bye boys! i hope they are ok. and howie found out this morning that his grandma died. so that's a bit of a non-uplifting note to be starting on.
but the next time you hear from me, we could be anywhere!!
so see you from somewhere on this browny reddy land. although we'll take a day or so to get there.
ciao!
well almost. if i was less lazy i would take some washing powder, rather than 13 tshirts. my bag is so full.
glad the swans won today. annoyed that i'll be away for our next home game. there goes $60-odd.
churchies in the morning which had a little something for everyone. i feel a bit ripped off i can't really make it to sunday "hoorah jesus is risen" church this year. but it's ok. he is risen regardless of me making it to church or not.
lunch with the sister, grandparents and aunt, as my parents are off galavanting around the country, in QLD. howie is a good bbqer.
afternoon nap. that was goooood.
debbie and tom came over for some gaming fun, maccas and a variety of music dvds. me and debs won the french vs gower taboo challenge - oh yeh! and then i won a little 'who? what? where?' whilst enjoying some u2 going home, sons of korah and ben harper & blind boys.
good indeed.
tomorrow is the last sleep in for a while. i hope for it to be savourable.
let us adore
the everliving God
and render praise
unto Him
who spread out the heavens
and established the earth
and whose greatness
is revealed in the heavens above
and whose glory
is manifest throughout all the world
He is our God
there is none else
time passes pretty quickly doesn't it. in some ways i like that. my brain tends to work by counting down to things, counting down through things, and then counting down to the next thing. i must like time passing quickly whether i think about it or not. perhaps i'd prefer it to pass quickly on my terms though. some things i'd like to savour a bit more. others, i'm quite happy for them to wizz past.
i think this year will continue to go quickly. and i don't see life slowing down anytime in the future. it seems to go faster as you get older.
what's with that?
on spicks and specks just now, danny bhoy shared that his brother and he used to play a game in the car as kids to pass time, singing songs and substituting the word 'heart' with the word 'arse'.
think of some heart songs, and do it. so funny!
"shot through the heart"
"can you find it in your heart"
"pop goes my heart"
"open up your heart and let the sun shine in"
"let your heart lead"
"my heart will go on"
"tiny broken heart"
"heart of worship"
"there's going to be some heartache tonight" (from the mind of howie)
"total eclipse of the heart"
"achy brakey heart"
"look into my heart, you will find, there's nothing there to hide"
"last christmas i gave you my heart"
the list goes on
gold!
i love my family. they are fun.
i love that tomorrow we have the day off. days off are fun.
i love that in two weeks and one day time, i will have more days off up my sleeve. that is indeed fun.
my sister is the coolest. she was coming over to borrow a DVD for her class, and i rang her to ask if she could buy some margarine on her way. then i smsed her to tell her i wouldn't be angry if she brought some chocolate. then i smsed her because i realised we needed bread.
and she turned up with all the goods. what a champ!
we were talking about purchasing an air rifle this morning. with 50 or so bullets. one each for the two dogs next door, and then the remaining 48 for all the birds outside our bedroom window at 6:30am every day.
watching some ross dvd. funny man. and he was on rove tonight. speaking of rove, he did alright for the comeback. i'm not as big a fan as i was back in the late nineties and early naughties. but i'm glad he's ready to get back to work. hamish and andy are annoying.
anyway, back to ross. he's filling in for Las Vegas for us. blockbuster couldn't deliver the goods this time around.
