wednesday night is the good viewing night. spicks and specks, extras, prisonbreak.
nothing much on during the rest of the week. but wednesday night is a gem.
it was very foggy when i went walking this morning. it's fun not being able to see very far in front of yourself. i got home and i was all damp from the damp air.
in sad news, fly buys is no longer offering the bosch cordless drill i was only points away from getting. that is upsetting. instead i might aim for the 10 movie passes.
because in good news, there are three films i saw previews for today that i now want to see. oceans 13 (looks more promising than oceans 12), man of the year and wild hogs.

today we saw the good shepherd. i think i liked it. i'm not sure. i found it a little hard to follow. it jumps all over the place. besides the little writing that tells you when and where things were happening, you could pretty much follow the timeframe by matt damon's glasses frames. we decided too that you probably need to know a little more about american history than what we do to fully appreciate the story lines.
in any case, it was long but didn't feel too long. i do like angelina jolie.
but i do think i'm much more looking forward to the three aforementioned films than i was to this one.
but still an $8.50 is a good thing.
the second installment of "howie doin?" came out today. if you don't get it, and want to, let me know and i can email it to you. but probably not til wednesday coz i just realised it's on my work computer.
unless you can email it to me juicy.

edit: thanks juicy!
mmmm how nice is the rain. i hope it's falling in warragamba. stupid placement of dam.
the exciting thing about tonight is that tomorrow is a day off. so we can sit and sleep and watch dvds. tomorrow is decided we will go see the good shepherd. told you we'd get there.
david is home soon. that is fun!
we bought one of these today. it was on special. and it's fun.

i've never bought their human sized thongs before, i think an inflatable one is much more cooler.
twas hot. and then wet. and then humid. and tiring. and a little sunburning. and very sweaty.
but it seems things went well. it's a bit different from my perspective of seeing all the gaps. but hey.
the coolest thing was when storm number 1 came over and i saw a lightning strike on the hill, with the bolt, and the bright flash/boom on the ground, and then the puff of smoke. that was cool.
storm 2 just drenched me. it was fat fat rain. and lots of it.
i bought 63 pens yesterday.
bible gateway's verse of the day. kinda relevant.
“Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.” Proverbs 14:22
sometimes life gets in the way of life doesn't it.
my job can be so stressful sometimes. i'm not too too stressed at present. but seriously can't wait til it's sunday.
i'm all for earth hour, and it's awesome that so many people and businesses are getting on board - hopefully for the long haul, and not just the 60 minutes.
but my problem is that at 7:10pm on Sautrday 31st March, the Swans game kicks off (or more accurately, bounces off) at telstra stadium. i very much doubt the lights will go out there. so i feel a little guilty about being involved with the bad people who don't participate. oh well. at least our house lights will be off!
and at least its not at the SCG were our bright presence would be much more obvious.
i think i've made myself feel better.
good.
there are a lot of very nice houses around these streets that i would like to have the money to buy.
i think we are swayed by colorbond. we could be in the ads.
1. Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 4.00pm and then
bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is refreshing.
2. If its really a rush job, run in and interrupt me every 10 minutes
to inquire how it's going. That helps. Even better, hover behind me, and
advise me at every keystroke.
3. Always leave without telling anyone where you're going. It gives me
a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.
4. If my arms are full of papers, boxes, or supplies, don't open the
door for me. I need to learn how to function as a paraplegic and opening
doors with no arms is good training in case I should ever be injured and
lose all my limbs.
5. If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me which is a
priority. I am psychic.
6. Do your best to keep me late. I adore this place and really have
nowhere to go or anything to do. I have no life beyond work.
7. If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret. It that gets out, it
could mean a promotion.
8. If you don't like my work, tell everyone. I like my name to be
popular in conversations. I was born to be whipped.
9. If you have special instructions for a job, don't write them down.
In fact, save them until the job is almost done. No use confusing me
with useful information.
10. Never introduce me to the people your with. I have no right to know
anything. In the corporate food chain, I am plankton. When you refer to
them later, my shrewd deductions will identify them.
11. Be nice to me only when the job I'm doing for you could really
change your life and send you straight to managers hell.
12. Tell me all your little problems. No one else has any and its nice
to know someone is less fortunate. I especially like the story about
having to pay so many taxes on the bonus check you received for being
such a good manager.
13. Wait until my yearly review and THEN tell me what my goals SHOULD
have been. Give me a mediocre performance rating with a cost of living
increase. I'm not here for the money anyway.
I related to some more than others in this list. But there is truth!
howie's ipod spazzed out on me this morning. i'd select a playlist, and instead of playing tunes, it would fastforward through the list showing me the little picture and number of the song in the playlist. hmmm... doesn't seem like normal ipod behaviour to me. i do hope it's not broken. and that i didn't do it if it is.
life is mucho busy at present. although there are peaceful moments. like now. but we seem to have lots of things on. and work is quite busy for me as well. not too stressful yet, with a trip coming up this Saturday. but i'm sure the pressure will increase. ah well. for the moment it's all good.
i like having lunch with tamara. that's probably because i like tamara. but she should blog more!
and just for the fun of it, here we are with tamara. and for some reason howie looks like he has a black eye!

1. i am husbandless tonight
2. people have been tagging our office windows with their keys!
3. i met two cool people tonight. one of them was this famous-in-belrose-circles person.
4. i've started walking in the mornings again
5. my feet hurt
6. the twenty20 celebrity match yesterday was funny
7. ross noble is on spicks and specks on abc2 right now. i LOVE ross noble. he's coming to australia soon. and we're going to see him at the enmore on 17th march. woohoo!
this time it was husbands turn to sleep through to the start of the movie. he wasn't very well during the night, so we thought three hours sitting in a cinema mightn't be the best thing. we'll get there one day. soon.
howie and i went to the movies tonight.
the plan was to see the good shepherd, but i got some really strange back pains and slept through to when the movie was about to start. husband was too nice to wake me up.
anyway, we ended up trotting off to hornsby a little later on to see miss potter, at the request and payment of my grandmother

now, i didn't mind it. sure it was a bit girly/ye olde english for me, but it was good to see the beatrix potter crew - peter rabbit and jemima puddle duck are of course the standouts. i have a big beatrix potter book of heaps of her stories all wrapped into one. we were brought up with the bunnykin folk through my mum's family.
so as bored as my husband may have been, i didn't mind seeing it.
but to apease husband, we are going to see the good shepherd tomorrow morning. it's almost three hours long though. ouch.
yay for happy turtles!!
they're our buddies again. ah it's good to have them back!
i don't quite know what to do with my fly buys points. i've got almost 12000 this time around.
as you may recall, my previous redeemed rewards have been brio and our breville wok (which is awesome and very well used). together they made 35000 points.
this time i think we're leaning towards a bosch cordless drill. coz howie really wants one. and why buy it when you can fly buys it.
maybe a $100 myer gift card, but that's not as fun to receive as a big box of something!
maybe a fun breville four slice toaster? four slices is better than two. although you have to eat fast to retain heat.
we could get a deep fryer - but i don't want one.
or a rice cooker. meh.
decisions decisions.
actually i think we'll go the drill. it will come in handiest. we already have a toaster. it has the bakers delight logo on it.
where's the line?
where does personal responsibility stop and corporate responsibility start?
things like nut allergies. i understand that there are kids and people out there who can die from eating nuts, sometimes even from touching them. but will everywhere become a nut free zone? our church is. preschools are. many schools are. will kraft go out of business because parents are too afraid to buy peanut butter? i like a good peanut butter sandwich. hopefully my kids to do. but they'll only be allowed to eat it at home at the rate society is going.
do we write "may contain traces of nuts" on the door to the church? where's the line?
is it the fault of baby boomers that the future is gonna suck?
i'm leaning towards yes. is that harsh?
i think howie's a happy man knowing that tonight my mum is making lasagne. that on top of spag bol last night. happy tummy for him. and me.
valentine's day doesn't do much for me. i don't get much. i don't give much. and i don't care much.
howie and i decided not to buy each other anything this year. and so far we have stuck to that. two years ago we made that same agreement, and then i bought him movie tickets. he got angry. in as much that he gets angry.
i am cooking spag bol tonight though. that's a bit of a gift i guess.
husband and i watched a DVD tonight at the recommendation of alexis. 'edison' was alright. i didn't think much of justin timberlake (does anyone?) but i do like a dose of kevin spacey, morgan freeman and dylan mcdermott every now and then.
anyway, because it was a kinda dark movie, the house was kinda dark. so when we turned the lights back on i saw one of the boys very still in the water, it looked like his head was on the ground. i went to take a closer look and thought for a moment that he had his head stuck under a rock or something. i started feeling sick inside, and then realised his head was at the top of his body, right were it was meant to be, but tucked in coz he was sleeping.
so because of my approach, he woke up, looked at me like "but mum i don't wanna go to school" and now is swimming around grogily. sorry ham!
today got surprisingly stressful for a time. i made a bit of a blunder and had to do some quick scrambling to make a mends. i think i look quite the idiot. well i feel it anyway. but hopefully all is good now.
i decided that $1.90 hot chips were the go. and they've done the trick. all is right with the world (which is of course a totally inaccurate statement).
there's a cafe i went to today in kurrajong that uses fair trade coffee. good on them. more cafe's should do that. and ones closer than kurrajong.
it's pretty exciting all these people getting married this year. weddings are fun things. i have a few people in mind who can be next in line. so get with the program people.
yesterday we went on an adventure to erina fair
that place is massive. i'd only been once before, back in 1998. but it's HUGE!! so we wandered around there for a while, had some lunch, and window shopped.
we then had a big night planned, DVDs and pancakes. howie is the pancake master, as you can see
he really pours his heart and soul into pancakes
apparently, it would seem his heart and soul are green
yummo!
then we watched cliffhanger. there wasn't anything that impressed us in new releases. so back to the 90s we went.
now, i'm sure we're all well aware that the poms won last night. i must admit when i heard the news, i said "yay!" and meant it.
my question is, is that unaustralian? technically i'm sure it is because australia lost, and so my excitedness at england winning must surely be unaustralian. BUT, as australian's we also go for the underdog more often than not. i would argue that england are the underdog coming out of this tour. so perhaps not as unaustralian as some might think.
however, that having been said, i do hope australia wrap up the next two finals. there is a limit to unaustralianness.
woohoo for jesse and marie. a whirlwind engagement culminating in a May 19th brisbane wedding. my husband is a groomsman. and the reception is at the gabba! how fun. is it ok if i'm next to you bowen?
duckie just got nudged. not from behind, but the side. stupid rta with their stupid million lines on the bridge at hornsby. this other car had no idea and decided that running into my car was the best way to cope with the confusion. i felt it. they beeped. i wound down my window. they asked if i was ok. i said yes is their any damage. they said no and drove off. so i pulled over to inspect, and i don't think there's anything more than a graze. but that makes me angry. at the rta and at the person.
often in our office you'll find some random book on your desk, which someone found in the donations pile, and thinks would be funny for you to see on your desk.
this time it's "so you're gonna be a dad" on howie's desk thanks to steve. now for the record, we aren't planning on kids anytime soon. but it's a funny book, with all kinds of useful and irrelevant information. but i must say the idea of childbirth itself is quite the frightening. damn eve.
i love a good storm. haven't really had one as yet this afternoon but perhaps. hopefully there's no hail though. i'm visiting my family, and the car is out in the elements. i don't duckie needs any more dents.
look after your teeth by drinking soft drink with a straw, or chilled. apparently that's better for your teeth. that and drinking tap water afterwards.
i'm a bit worried about my next dental visit. but i always am, and have only ever had one cavity.
i'm much more concerned about howie's teeth. he hasn't been to a dentist for ten or more years!
it would seem that today is the day of blogging. my apologies for all the scrolling.
but tamara has requested a poem. and i am obliged to fulfil her wish.
T is for tops
A is for awesome

i should go back to primary school!
apparently, stilnox isn't rating well in the sanity department of effective sleeping tablets.
good to know i didn't go crazy when i was taking it.
last night was good fun as we had buddy's over for cricket-viewing and hamburger-eating after church. the likes of lachy, tamara, cathy, grant, debbie and sam mixed with the howie's is a fun combo. go the BBQ, go to aussies, go 'thank god you're here'.
the boys have moved into their new house. it was a pretty mammoth effort. they don't seem all that happy yet. which is sad coz we wanted them to be happy. they did seem to miss being able to see the TV last night. such strange little creatures.
G is for great
R is for rad
A is for awesome
N is for nice
T is for tops
i can take more poetry requests. i am at your disposal.
good on the poms winning the xxxx gold beach cricket series

very enjoyable. blatantly for entertainment and promotional purposes. but why not!
well tomorrow is the big move. it will be one hell of an upgrade for our little ones.
from this, which i quite like and they still do to
to this! which i very much hope they like, or they will be in big trouble
and this here young man is doing much much better. thankyou to those who had a chat with God about him
we also started taking the boys outside for some sun today. we'll do it on the weekends, weather permitting. they seemed to like it. and it's good for their shells.
how fun is old cricketers from my childhood and beyond playing beach cricket.

how good are old school windies players. and i LOVE england's darren gough!
and johnny howard's right there at maroubra holding the bat at the toss. oh how he loves his cricket. any sort of cricket.
this site is tops. i'd forgotten about it, but a few weeks ago when we found it, i wrote a note to myself. and it arrived in the post today. hand written on notepaper and everything.
so so cool.
howie and i have been very creative in finding a platform for the boys tank. we don't want to pay $100s for something we can make ourselves. well we hope. so tonight was spent visiting bunnings, and purchasing some plastic shelfy/boxey things, astro turf, and glue for $20 all up. so far it's looking pretty good. i got to cut things with a stanley knife, glue with the glue gun thing, clamp with clamps. howie did stuff too. i tend to take over though. like with IKEA furniture. i get all excited about putting things together and being the handyman.
and hopefully it all turns out useable and compatible with the boys needs.
hopefully.
and after all that hard work, it's bed time. 6:47am alarm is fun isn't it.
