one day howie might be better. won't that be fun. yes it will
one day i might be too. but i feel bad feeling sick when others are so much sicker. i would like to chop my nose and throat off
i got so many on top of toe blisters today from new shoes. ouchies. sorry tootsies
tomorrow is donata's wedding. it's cocktail dress. i don't much look forward to being lardy da. coz i don't think i'm ever much good at being lardy da
it will be nice to go to sleep soon
this is poo throwing monkey sitting on the toilet.

i found an undeveloped film and had it processed. it stetched back 5 months. there were a lot of silly photos.
shout outs to lachie, gareth, steve, sam, shell, rachael, heather and alison! experience mixed with fresh blood mixed with vision mixed with enthusiasm mixed with humility mixed with passion mixed with awesome young people. all under God.
bring on gap 2006!
it's a shame the WACA is so far away and that the cricket doesn't start til 4:15pm, and then goes til after midnight.
gets quite warm walking to pennant hills and back in the sun.
success in shoe shopping with cathy at castle hill. hoorah!
am worried about howie and all his anti-wellness.
just for a change, i really need to clean my room, or at least put my clothes away.
wished i had gone on with learning to sew.
i've been fiddling with a wedding website. it's still a work in progress, but go check it out if you have a moment. it's the wedding of fun! a good time waster (the site, not the wedding itself).
howie and i ventured to macquarie centre to see 'good night and good luck'.

i talked howie around to seeing it using his love of george clooney. i didn't mind it - a couple of bits i got bored, but i really like the main actor man who i don't know the name of.
a lot of people walked out during the movie. howie would whisper "communists" as they left. i think maybe they were bored. they all seemed to be youngish people. maybe black and white films aren't their idea of a good night out.
my throat is sore. that's not much fun. and debbie has all the vitamin c with her.
australia day it is.
this morning howie and i had coffee (or water, chai, iced chocolate as the case may be) with the lovely chlotaire and matt. coz matt is going to new zealand. that was fun. we also visited sam.
last night was jo's birthday partee, and that was good times. yay for sam being my date. and for mostly remembering the way back to croydon. oh the memories. happy birthday jo.
on the flip side of good times, my grandpa (dad's dad this time) was taken to emergency at 5am this morning with dodgy heart stuff - they think an aneurism in the aorta or something. so that's not good news. my dad might end up heading to taree to be with my grandma.
as for the rest of this day, there is napping, cricket, snacking, and a movie this evening.
tomorrow howie and i meet with a potential photographer for our wedding. i don't much like these sort of meetings. too much decisioning or something. bler.
i found out this afternoon that two girls who i was good friends with at high school have had babies in the last couple of years. that freaks me out a bit. needless to say, i have no regular or irregular contact with anyone from high school, except one girl who smses every year or so, and one girl who's christmas card list i am on. there's probably more girls from my grade who have bubbas that i have no idea about. actually, i do know of one girl who already have three. but still. high school was only yesterday. goodness me.
meanwhile, i am getting into the habit of shopping. especially purchasing when something is on sale. i try and limit it to things i actually need, or actually want (rather than don't really want). however, i often find myself walking around westfield feeling uncomfortable at the thought of the hundreds of us in there spending money on things that don't really matter. money is a funny thing.
not feeling heaps well today
but it is fun that tomorrow is australia day. gotta love public holidays
are you ever bored and scroll through the list of contacts in your phone. do you ever find people you have no idea about or no recollection of who they are. i often do. once it was ryan. oops sorry ryan. i was sitting on the steps of church, scrolling through, and i just couldn't remember why there was a ryan in my phone or who on earth i knew with the name ryan. after i sent a message asking ryan who ryan was, i realised it was ryan, without him having to reply, and then i felt a right git
last night it was "megan". but i figured it out. no need for embarrassing message sending. good old megs
it's been a year of round two. a much better effort than round one i must say. i got a fun pressie, so we took a photo. now everyone will be happy at the beach.

so hoorah for a year of howie and jenny. and here's to a lifetime more!
i stopped off to put some mail in the post box this evening. as i did, i parked in front of the box, which the box itself states is a no standing zone. as i got out of my car, a fire fighter man hopped out of his fire truck, which was parked in a no standing zone across the road. now, what would a traffic cop do with us? does he get special provision for being a fireman, even if he is doing an ordinary, mundane task? or would he get a ticket as well as me?
good on debbie having a bunch of us around last night (and in the arvo). i did enjoy the towards-the-end of the night as a few of us played balderdash - good old balderdash. twas howie, tom, debbie, libby, will and myself. i think the laughter grew as the night got older. but it was fun. did you know 'ogdoad' was a group of eight?
i slept wrong with my neck in my afternoon nap today. it is still sore, and has given me a headache. if only i had the lovely IKEA couch rather than my tiny freedom one.
one day.
my grandpa is still in hospital. he was meant to have a kind of stress test yesterday - measuring blood pressure as you walk faster and faster on a walkie machine (mind blank - coz i know it's not called a travelator!). problem is, he has a pace maker, which overrides the natural beating of the heart, and doesn't give an accurate reading. good old pacemaker. and they don't really want to do an angiogram at the moment since they don't like doing them willie nillie.
good news is that since he's been in hospital, and is only getting up to use the bathroom, he hasn't had any pain. bad news is that means they don't actually know what's giving him pain. besides thinking he's probably exerting himself too much. which means if he gets home and the pain comes back, he's much less likely to actually take himself back to hospital. gooood.
so that is an update for all you thousands of people who were wondering how my grandpa is.
and no news on howie today as yet.
and my dad is fine after that one day of illness.
health update complete.
today i did some shoe shopping. i had been shoe looking previously, but no purchasing was done. i don't like shopping for shoes. i'm too indecisive and shoes are too expensive. anyway, i had about seven phone conversations with debbie, as well as sending an mms to some random phone so she could see the shoes. i also rang zoe and cathy. it's ok, coz the shoes were for them three, and not me. but it was hard. especially coz the store is closing in three days. i ended up getting myself some shoes from another shop. that didn't need any outside consultation. i just like ticking things off the list.
i so cannot wait til i no longer have to use this computer.
and of all things, firefox is a dog this morning.
sure is raining
good thing i wore a white singlet top and jeans too long for my legs today. ugh
perhaps i should have checked bom before i went out
my grandpa was taken to the emergency room this arvo with chest pain. they've decided it's nothing major and they are keeping him in overnight just to make sure everything is ok and maybe to do an angiogram. i don't like thinking about my grandparents mortality.
me thinks howie are slightly addicted to marble blast.
and me thinks i drank much too much pepsi max today.
sick boy was not really feeling better tonight, but felt more in control of his body, and thought we should go see a movie. so we went to see 'the producers'.

i'm still not sure what i think. i laughed in bits. i think mostly i was bored. i spotted jai from queer eye for the straight guy.
it was a movie. if you feel you have nothing better to do than spend $15 it's as good as any place to start.
howie's belly/bowel/stomach/whatever should be better. he hasn't been sick for a good while, so it sucks that it's back. i hope doctor can find something that's helpful.
get better robert.
church - tick
reception - tick
wedding dress - tick
bridesmaids dresses - tick
debbie, cathy, zoe and myself went out to south wentworthville this morning, just to look at dresses (well, skirts and tops), and ended up finding something we all liked, and that they all looked beautiful in. so they each bought their outfit.
i can't believe how easily everything so far has fallen into place. perhaps flowers and photographer will cause more stress. i hope not.
i am a bit sad that there are certain people who already know they can't come to the wedding.
today is 'parents meet the parents' day.
the above title isn't at all relevant.
it'll be fine.
haven't yet received today's dose of daily hit to the head. still a few hours of the day remaining.
did you know i now have a wedding dress? sorry - can't tell you anything about it.
being back at work isn't all that exciting or non-exciting. i think it just is. it's fun hanging out in the office with howie and other special guests like colin. yet to really see fun kiddies. little snippets of people.
found out this arvo there is to be some changes to GAP leadership this year. should be different and good and mix things up a bit. so yeh. see what happens ey.
this is SO cool! it's over a hundred Bible stories illustrated with over a thousand photos of lego.
check it out!
the story of jesus' birth is very cool
and as a visual example, samson just destroyed the temple
on my way to work this morning on penno road, a car heading in the same direction of me about 20 metres ahead and two lanes across drove through some mud on the road and it splashed out everywhere, like in an ad for a 4WD.
i thought to myself i better slow down, coz it was wet and the like, before i drove through the mud myself without incident. i flicked the air con off recirculate for some reason, and some putrid fumes entered the cabin of my vehicle. so i quickly hit recirculate again - which of course recirculated the foul air.
it evenutally dissipated, but as i got to work and stepped out of my car there was a pungent odour. me thinks it wasn't merely mud hundreds of cars were driving through, but spilt manure or something.
so now i think that since it still smells after heavy rain, i might have to visit a car wash. that, or buy a new car.
yes, i do think that "who? what? where?" was a good purchase. it is a fun game. and i think my favourite coincidental combination to date, was at the hand of ben last night:
who - adam and eve
what - skinny dipping
where - nudist beach
how funny. and congratulations to tom and will & team for winning.
howie and i had lunch with my grandma and grandpa today. it was very yummy chicken and veggies, and it was plenty fun to spend time with my grandparents.
i'm so glad grandpa got a cochlear implant - it's so good being able to talk with him and hear his stories, and have actual conversations without having to shout or speak extremely slowly. hoorah for modern day medical advances.
we got some more presents too. and howie now knows how to carve a chicken.
adventure time! as our holidays are drawing to a close, it was time for a howie and jenny adventure. so off to zig zag railway we went!
we started outside the frenches place. as most of our adventures do

and we drove via m2, m7 and whatever other m’s take you to the blue mountains and beyond. and I was a good girl - it's the angle making it look over 100

we got to the railway about 30 mins before our 1pm ride so we had some lunch. this is Howie and the engine (was taken after the event but hey).

there are some fun signs along the way. this isn’t the funnest but it’s still a fun sign

we were naughty and stuck out heads out the windows

and the train did it’s business down and up the tracks. so much soot and smoke and steam. good stuff.

yay for the zig zag railway. I like that it’s there and that volunteers look after it, and that all money goes into making it keep running and improving. that’s cool.

after that we took the bells line of road back to hornsby. we stopped in a park to eat some doritos. i like this photo of robert.

we were suckers for the souvenir shop – and this guy was one of our purchases – his name is ziggy and he is plenty fun

and we drank a lot of apple juice

hoorah!
sometimes you just have to go see something at the movies coz you have a buy one get one free voucher. so howie and i went to see the family stone.

some of it was funny. some of it was boring. some of it had potential to bring a tear to the eye.
so we're off and running for the year. current cinema tally = 1.
church - booked
reception place - booked
oh yeh baby! that's the way we like it.
in other news, i have been feeling quite nauseous all day. i'm hoping that maxalon will be helpful in correcting this. it was a relief though when i got to the top of the stairs of my house and didn't have the immediate urge to vomit. that's reassuring. now i think it is time to continue my nap which was paused at 2:05pm.
oh so much to be figured out
i only realised today that our wedding is planned for the 9th of the 9th. that should be nice and easy to remember in the future - unless we get confused and think 8th of the 8th or 10th of the 10th
i think tomorrow will be helpful to understand more of what we need to think about. i do believe weddings can be costly endeavours, but i would like ours to not be overly so
is it weird to say it's only 8 months away?
what do you think? should we tip waitstaff in australia? if so, how much is acceptable or reasonable? if not, why not?
i ask because of lunch today, and i disagreed with the way it went.
i hope the next few days bring much adventure, fun and good times.
happy birthday to nat!
feeling a bit lazy and fat. should get out and do something. tomorrow is family lunch in the city. so that will be something different. will also contribute to the fattiness, but that's ok.
i think the next few months will ask of me to keep cool, calm and collected, when it may be difficult to do so. i might be able to do that exteriorly, but it's much harder internally.
am many glads the temperature was halved from yesterday. coz yikes.
am so used to reading christian books or overtly military/crime/action adventure type ones, that now i am reading a autobiographical type one that isn't, i keep waiting to stumble across the spiritual stuff.
welcome to the world 2006

my first experience of midnight in the city - normally we head off to some other destination for midnight after the 9pm fireworks. but it was fun to stick around for a variety of reasons:
~the entire nation of ireland was sitting to our left at observatory hill
~so much food
~fun people
~testing out my new rug
~the heart fireworks were pretty cool - how do they do that?!
~seeing all the thousands of people walking up george street
~having a seat on the train home!
i am looking forward to some lazing around today - i didn't end up with as much sleep as would have been nice. looking forward to the cricket starting tomorrow. it's good to be in summer! maybe a bit of beach action... who knows what the new year, and our week of holidays, will bring
and lastly, if i'm going to sit on a rug for over 8 hours, i expect more than 10 mins of midnight fireworks
