could make a dent

the other night, i randomly asked howie "do you want me to book you an appointment at my dentist?". i thought i would be rejected once again, as this is become the pattern in recent years. i ask about a dentist, he says no.

surprisingly he said "ok". i couldn't believe it.

so i made him an appointment today for monday afternoon.

he hasn't been to the dentist for 10 years.

i feel our bank account cringing already.

What is it about men and dentists? I haven't been for about that long either. It's not that I don't like dentists I just can't be bothered going to one. I'm okay with doctors, in fact I went to the doctor this morning and he suggest I go and get a tube stuck down my throat (there are worse places to have tubes shoved) - perhaps I shouldn't go to the doctor either.

i still like going to doctors even after they have given me a camera up the bum, a camera down the throat and the worst of all a camera up my man bit.

dentis dont scare me or anything i just dont see the need. when you feel sick you go to a doctor when your teeth are falling apart you go to a dentist. my teeth are fine.

Hmmm ... very, very uncomfortable ... you win the "a camera going where no camera should go" debate

Like Howie, I left it a good 10 years between drinks with my dentist... I went to weeks ago on my wife's prompting (i see a trand here) and the first round cost me $250. I am now going again this afternoon for a second round which should cost at least that again if not more! Howie, I thought my teeth were fine too!

although howie says his teeth are fine, they aren't really. he had a lot of fillings when he was little, and many of them have fallen out over the years.

i think i might almost be regretting making the appointment. it might just serve to let howie know that there are lots of problems with his teeth, but then we won't be able to afford to do anything about them!! if your $250 for a first round is anything to go by scott!

its a bit silly casue if my teeth are falling apart and the dentist decided that i canty have sugar anymore.

there is no way i'm giving up coke, dentures would be fun

Update... Second round completed: $208. I now have to also go for X-rays and get my bottom wisdom teeth removed!!! I'll keep you posted on the dental bills.
