tunnelling out

this morning we are off to the city, to check out a venue for one of our programs. i've decided there should be a special concession where, if you catch the train to the city in peak hour, but not because you work there, you should still get off-peak prices. i'm sure if i pitch that to the government, it would be extremely well-received and quickly-implemented system.

meanwhile, in other government/transport related news, i'm not sure what to think of these 10000 fines meaning thousands of dollars and months of suspension from driving. it's interesting that for something so public, that the government won't even consider reviewing things - even when the tunnel operator is thinking it might be a good idea. some guy has set up this website. that being said, probably people just didn't see or care about any roadwork signs. speeding is still speeding, as they say. but not if you didn't know about it?

i wonder if the tunnel boycott will have an impact. apparently, tunnel traffic isn't as high as expected. just wait til they convert epping road to one lane. highway robbery!
