yesterday was the day off of fun, as many day offs are. Howie and i headed into the city with good old cityrail

we walked down to Darling Harbour coz i like the water features – but a bunch of them were under repairs. so sad. but i cheered myself up by pretending to fall in. the pavement was very very hot

we got to the powerhouse museum

it had been many, many years since i’d been there. and for what i’d probably already seen and done, i didn’t really remember much at all. there were lots of things to see and do. the trains were fun. the experiments room was fun. i’m a sucker for a big plasma globe. and i’m even more a sucker for anything cheeky. and so, the coolest was Isaac the robotic arm! He was so naughty and fun. he dances to music, and moves blocks, and races you to push buttons. then he says naughty things to you with signs.

this is Howie looking at the Rhodes development. we like Rhodes. and this display had fun lights to play with

there was also a display of last year’s HSC major works. some of them were very very cool. there are some clever people out there. i liked this campaign against domestic violence

but I still reckon I should be hired somewhere as a professional proof reader. how do you spell ‘information’??

anyways, there was heaps more, but we couldn’t use flash so we couldn’t take a lot of photos.
we were there for three hours - didn't feel like that long! and i got hungry. so we finished up, and headed to darling harbour for foods.
we walked past some obviously dangerous trees

we bought massive sandwiches

and did a little shopping. i got new Nike’s from Paul’s warehouse. and to balance out the naughtiness of buying potential sweat shop work and promoting globalisation, i supported the environment by buying a hemp skirt from Braintree Hemp. it's plenty good
we succumbed to purchasing lollies from the british lolly shop, coz the shop girl was so nice

by this stage we were pretty tired. but there was time to have fun on play equipment

we walked back to town hall and caught a train home.
a successful day off.
oh, i almost forgot, the powerhouse visit was free thanks to some person giving my dad a free family pass. hoorah.
Category: Hoorah!Oh dear. I once programed Issac's brother.. It's quite scary seeing another motoman. I could tell you all about how to control that arm but that would be traumatic for everyone involved.
