i don't know if i quite understand the new epping station. as it is, they've merged the two old platforms, with a giant slab of concrete between the two. so goodbye platform 2. i guess it will end up being underneath? or something to that effect. maybe it's efficient cityrail work - upgrading our transport system by reducing the number of platforms a train can actually stop at. fewer trains mean less late complaints? nah. but i'm sure it makes sense to someone. perhaps i should do my homework on it.
