is it just me or is it kinda strange to focus on corby so much when there's reportedly another 155 australians in foreign gaols on drugs charges, with two facing the death penalty. why isn't the government, media and australian public getting behind them? i'm not saying anything against schappelle, and it sucks that she has and will have to spend so much time in an indonesian prison for something she may or may not have done, but what makes her story more newsworthy?

perhaps it's just me.

It's not just you. It's also me.

It is also me. But at the moment what is annoying me more is that before the verdict came down, all the media were denying her guilt and now they're all like oh yeah.. all this evidence saying she did it. and the point is that she's not the only one in this situation.

Thanks for coming to visit btw. was muchly fun!

Well i think it's because Schapelle is probably more obviously innocent than all the others. Plus because it is the smallest drug traffic offender to be up for such a horrible sentence as an Australian. Just the fact that it was 4.1 kg of POT (hellooo) makes it more news worthy than others who are obviously guilty and have no hope of beign set free. I think it was the drama of 'will she/wont she get done for it'.
Aussies always go for the underdog.
I also think it was because it was straight after the Tsunami and so most Australians are surprised at the harshness of it all after the Tsunami and the mercilessness.
Also because its after all the drama witht hat Indonesian Terrorist who killed heaps of Australians in a terrorist action and got 18 months in an Australian gaol. I mean he get 18 months HERE and she has 20 rs for trafficing POY over in an INDONESIAN GAOL (hello)... There's slight difference there.
I also think that the fact that alot more of the horrific conditions of the Indonesian gaols has been seeping out over the last 2 yrs, no1 really knew how horrible it was until it has been publically talked about, so now anyone who is up for that sort of charge will get on TV more than in the past.
I think its because even if she's guilty she doesn't deserve any of the possible sentences she could get, and also because it is highly probably that she isn't guilty. Unfortunately thre is no evidence (real evidence) supporting either side, whatever you believe. But either way, i think its a damn shame and a wasate of a life.Thats just what i think neway.

IU also think its unfair that now its over people suddenly hav a change of opinion and also that peple are going to start to forget about her. I bet you she won't be forgetting it. But as the news starts laying off more and more, people will care less and less, and i think thats ad coz it's still soimeones LIFE we are talking about. I hate thinking of her huddled up in an indonesian gaol cell forgotten. OHHHHHHHHH it makes me cry!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we all know the answer we just dont want to admit it. Shes a poster girl. Like why is George W so focused on Osama.
I mean in a crude way Darren Hinch got it right when he said she was a pretty girl with big Boobs- also its sad but theres money in it; sad sad state the television networks are in.
But im so over it.......
