i enjoy the idea of blogging at 2am. that is fun.
and here goes the story of our evening...
the plan had been for luke, tim, debs and me to do something. then matt too. but then other things came up and fell through, and we were at a bit of a loss.
after some preliminary discussions early in the afternoon, tim and ez joined me, debs and lyndal at our place at 4pm. after further discussions we decided that instead of going to the beach, we'd head to balls head and meet up with a bunch of other people before heading to whale beach to meet with another bunch.
so we drove to gordon station and caught the train to waverton. the five of us walked from waverton to the head, and eventually met up with lachie, todd, chrissy, chris, steve, matt, bindi, lauter, bob, milo and another girl who's name is maybe helen. no brett or brad. we sat around for a while chatting, and playing funny ball games. at about 7pm, steve, tim, deb, lyndal, ez, me and bob walked back to waverton to get some food - we'd come empty handed! after some hairy moments crossing the sea of sewerage along the short cut, we made it to IGA. we returned with bread, cheese, ham, chips, lollies and grapes. the same as the other guys had earlier. except we also had cookies. bonus points.
we waited around for the 9pm fireworks. lots of oohs and aahs.
after that we all headed off... most people headed back to todd's to watch midnight fireworks on big projectorness. but lyndal, ez, tim, me, deb, steve and bob met up in st ives and drove to freshwater beach to meet up with kirri, sam and tim dabinett. that was fun. we sat on the beach - there were maybe two other groups of people. we had sparklers. we counted down to midnight as soon as it was midnight. we celebrated new years with many a "happy new year!".
sam and i rang jo kemp. but although it said we were connected, we couldn't hear anything.. could you hear us jo?? we yelled lots at the phone hoping you could hear us.
there were fireworks in the carpark. we threw around a frisbee. some random people came up to say hi and happy new years. good fun was had by all. i think we left at about 1am.
the plan was to head back to ez's for some tea, but that fell through, so debs, tim and me went to maccas for oreo mcflurries - but alas thornleigh maccas had no soft serve! so we bought some oreos from a servo, and made our own at home.
and now i believe it will be sleep time. hoorah for that.

i couldnt call anyone all night cause of networks, and i think i just couldnt hear my phone when it rang...but you guys were a few beaches round from us!
